A special award in Hank's name, honoring the best hitters in the American and National Leagues will be created and awarded annually.

 In 1999, the Hank Aaron Award will go to the hitters with the most hits, home runs and RBI in each league.
 
This year the presenting sponsor of the award is Country Time® Lemonade. As part of its presenting sponsorship, Country Time joins with Major League Baseball in supporting the Hank Aaron Chasing the Dream Foundation. The Foundation provides grants to young people with limited opportunities, enabling them to develop their talents and pursue their dreams.

Country Time will promote its involvement with Major League Baseball and Hank Aaron through in-store displays, consumer advertising and a national sweepstakes. The sweepstakes, held in 5,000 supermarkets nationwide, will take place during July and August, 1999. One winner per store will be drawn at random in August or September, and will receive special Hank Aaron 25th Anniversary merchandise.

Consumers can also collect and redeem Country Time proofs of purchase for officially licensed Major League Baseball Hank Aaron merchandise. Details will be available on specially marked supermarket displays.

In 1999, the Hank Aaron Award will go to the hitters that accumulate the most hits, home runs and runs batted in in each league. In subsequent years, the award winners will be selected by a panel and determined on a more subjective basis.
